The recovery in the cryptocurrency market was cut short due to high volatility observed over the past 24 hours. Most market indicators are tilted towards a near-term consolidation in the cryptocurrency market, leaving lower chances of a year-end rally.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, was trading at $57,389 or 2.35 per cent lower than its price 24 hours ago. The market capitalisation of the popular cryptocurrency stood at $1.08 trillion while the 24-hour trading volume fell to 927.28 million.

Ether also retreated over 3 per cent and was trading at $4,193 at the time of publication. Ether’s market capitalisation stood at $492 billion and the 24-hour trading volume was $763 million.

Commenting on the current market momentum, Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex, a global algorithm-based crypto investment platform, said, “The cryptocurrency market remained highly volatile over the past 24 hours.”

“The recovery in the market was cut short by the bears becoming highly active. All of the top 20 cryptos ended in red,” he added.

“The coming 24 hours would continue to remain volatile, with the crucial support for BTC at $57,000.”
